Rigi Hochflue after work
Trail running on the Rigi Hochflue after work. Straight from the office, up from Rohrboden, and down again — a short, steep evening lap on the most alpine of the Rigi summits.
Rigi Hochflue, 1698 m
T4 / ~570 m ↗ / Rohrboden – Alp Egg – summit
The Rigi Hochflue is the most alpine of the Rigi peaks, and the last section up to the summit is properly steep — chains and cables where the path runs into rock, which is where the T4 grading comes from. Not much of it is actually runnable.
I went up light and fast, turned around at the top and was back down before dark. An hour and change of moving time from Rohrboden, around 570 m of climbing. A good after-work objective if you live anywhere near the Vierwaldstättersee.
