A ski tour on the Fünffingerstöck, above the Sustenpass. Up the Obertal and the Obertalgletscher to the 2994 m point behind the towers — the ski summit of the same group whose ridges I had climbed on foot.

The line goes up the Obertal from the Sustenpass road, then onto the Obertalgletscher, which steepens near the top before easing over the Obertaljoch at 2943 m; from there it is a few minutes on foot to the summit. Gipfelbuch gives it ZS, 1111 m of ascent, around 3.5 hours up, and notes crampons for icy sections and a carry at the bottom when the snow is thin. Late May is at the end of the season here, so how far you skin from the car depends entirely on the year.

Same peak the SW ridge and Bohrgeist sit on, only from the other side and on skis — the glacier plateau behind the towers is what makes it a tour rather than a climb.
