Rock climbing at Eptingen. I did not write down which routes we did, so this is just a day on the limestone above the village — the nearest decent rock to Basel, which is most of why we keep going back.

Eptingen, 540 m / Basler Jura

Sport climbing, 3a–9b across three sectors · walls 18–20 m · limestone · 10–25 min approach (T1)

Eptingen, Basler Jura Eptingen, Basler Jura Eptingen, Basler Jura

Eptingen sits at about 540 m in the Basler Jura and splits into three sectors: Bündel (25 routes, 5a–6c+), Diegterwand (36 routes, 6a–8b+) and Wasserfalle (24 routes, 5c–7c+). Limestone throughout, walls of 18 to 20 m, with most of the climbing in the 6a–6c range. Since I have no record of the lines, the crag’s range is all I can honestly give here.

Busy, as usual — Baselland, Solothurn and Aargau all reach it easily. And the motorway below is audible the entire time, which you either stop noticing or you don’t.
