Campsut sits at 1678 m in the Avers valley in Graubünden. You park in the hamlet, walk out across the field, and the falls are already in front of you - about as little approach as ice climbing gets. We went for the left-hand side rather than the main wall.

I didn’t write down which line we did, so the numbers above are the sector’s range and not the route’s: the area holds roughly thirty ice and mixed lines from WI2 to WI5+ (M4-M9), between 10 and 60 m. The left side carries a specific warning in the guides - icicles above it break off - so it is worth looking up before you start.

Approach

Park at Campsut and cross the field directly to the falls; they are clearly visible from the road. PostBus stop “Avers, Campsut”, but service is irregular.
