A bouldering session at Sustenbrüggli with Ula. Back on the granite blocks below the Sustenpass — one of those days where you just work through the problems and do not bother taking notes.

Sustenbrüggli, Sustenpass, ca. 2000 m

Font 4–8b+ (crag range) / granite and gneiss / roadside

The blocks sit either side of the pass road: one cluster right by the Gasthaus Sustenbrüggli, a second further up past the tunnel towards the glacier. Granite and gneiss, mostly crimpy finger climbing, and around 180 problems and traverses spanning roughly Font 4 to 8b+ — so there is something for whatever shape you turn up in.

I did not write down what we climbed, so no grades from me here. At this altitude the season really only starts in late May or June, and the pass road is shut from November onwards, which makes early July about as reliable as it gets.
