Blauberg from the Furkapass
A late start out of the Furkapass, just for the evening. The Blauberg sits right above the road, a scree-and-grass hump that most people drive straight past, so it seemed like the obvious thing to do with the last hours of light.
Blauberg, 2767 m / N–NE flank & ridge
T3 / ↗ ~340 m / Gear: none
The route is short and honest: from the pass you pick up faint traces into the north flank, then follow the northeast ridge over grass and scree to the top. Nothing technical, just a steady T3 pull with the light going gold. From the summit the ground continues south over the Griegufergrat towards the Blaubergpass, but that is another day’s outing.
Logistics
Parking
Park at the top of the Furkapass (2429 m), on the pass road between Realp and Gletsch. The road is only open in the summer season.
Approach
Straight off the pass. Head up the north flank on trodden traces, then onto the northeast ridge to the summit — roughly 340 m of ascent, no approach walk to speak of.
