Trotzigplanggstock 2974 m

South Ridge / 4c (4a) / 13 pitches / 200 ↗ / Gear: 1 x 50m, 8 draws, 1-2 cams

The gneiss is wonderfully firm and grippy, the ridge airy and the view phenomenal.

Unfortunatelly we bailed because of the traffic jam on the ridge. Groups of what looked like total amateurs blocked the ridge. At some point we counted 19 people. After for half an hour and realizing they are not moving we decided not to waste time and bailed. We did Murmelsplanggstock instead which turned out to be a very nice scrambling.

I’ll definitely return (and surely not during the weekend). The ridge looks great and is easy enough for a solo ascent.
