Sectors Altirolo and Nivo / Gneis

Nestled in the upper Ticino valley, Chironico is home to some of Switzerland’s finest and most concentrated bouldering, featuring a massive collection of granite blocks set against dramatic Alpine scenery.

The grey and black granite blocks offer a perfect mix of powerful compression moves and technical faces, with excellent friction in the cold months, while the various aspects of the valley provide climbing options in both sun and shade.

Logistics

From the parking lots near the village of Chironico, multiple trails lead to various sectors, with most areas accessible within a 15-30 minute hike. The sectors are spread across both sides of the valley.
